Two generations of high pressure common rail technology
High pressure common rail system is a new generation of diesel engine fuel injection system developed in the 1990s.Because of its obvious technical advantages,it quickly replaced the inline pump and electric control unit pump, distribution of electronically controlled VE pump, cummins accumulator injection system CAPS and other traditional diesel engine electronically controlled fuel injection system and finally become the mainstream technology of diesel engine fuel system.

High pressure common rail technology comes from ETH in Zurich, Switzerland, according to wikipedia. In the 1960s, Robert Huber, a professor at the institute, successfully developed the prototype of an ecg system for diesel engines. In 1983, Marco Ganser got a PhD in engineering in ETH with the topic of "Electronically Controlled Accumulator Injection System for Passenger Car Diesel Engines: theoretical and experimental studies", which is a research paper of the first generation of high-pressure common rail technology in the world.

After completing the first generation of common rail technology development, ETH continued to conduct in-depth research, and released the second generation of high pressure common rail technology in 2001.The second generation common rail technology adopted the central accumulation principle on the fuel injector. In addition, it adopted forced lubrication on the high-pressure pump, making the initial design pressure of the second-generation high-pressure common rail system reach 1800bar.

Common rail products developed
Based on the research results of the first generation high pressure common rail technology of ETH, Japan DENSO company developed the ecu-u2 common rail system for J08C diesel engine application for hino Rising Ranger heavy truck in 1995.In 1990, Magneti Marelli from Centro Ricerche Fiat and Elasis, Italy, also developed high-pressure common rail technology for passenger cars, which was sold to Germany's Bosch for mass production.

In 1997, Bosch's first generation high pressure common rail product was applied to the CDI diesel engine of fiat Alfa Romeo 156 sedan 2.4 JTD and mercedes-benz C 220 sedan, and soon replaced the traditional fuel system such as electric control VE distribution pump, becoming the mainstream in the world, which was known as one of the three breakthroughs of 20th century internal combustion engine technology.

As the maximum pressure of the first generation of high pressure common rail products was 1350bar, Bosch improved and raised its maximum pressure to 1450bar, aiming at light and medium diesel engines, known as the second generation common rail products of Bosch, which was introduced into China in 2004.Bosch introduced to China the upgrade second generation of common rail product upgrade, the maximum pressure of 1600 bar, and import the development and production of weifu group CB18, CB08 high-pressure pump, to reduce the production cost of high pressure common rail product localization. In addition, Bosch's common rail high-pressure pump CPN2 for heavy diesel engines was introduced to China in 2004 which is the technology acquired by Japanese company ZEXEL.

In addition to Bosch, Delphi corporation of the United States inherited the design structure of compact injector presented by Lucas CAV of the United Kingdom at the annual meeting of SAE in 1998, and launched common rail products for light diesel engines.Germany's Siemens first introduced piezoelectric common rail injectors around the world, with a small applications in Europe and the US, such as ford's 1.8-liter diesel engine in Brazil.

As for Japanese DENSO, in 1999, the maximum pressure of its second generation common-rail product ecd-u2p system was increased to 1600bar.In 2003, the HP3 and HP4 pumps for medium and light diesel engines were launched by DENSO, and the maximum pressure was increased to 1800bar.In addition, cummins is developing and producing high pressure common rail systems similar to Bosch's.

LIAONING XINFENG Introduced 2nd CR Technology
The second generation high pressure common rail technology of ETH has been noticed by liebherr group of Germany. CRT company was specially established to carry out batch production process research and adaptive improvement. In 2005, this technology was sold to China and Japan.

In 2006, the liaoning xinfeng enterprise group bought the high-pressure common rail technology license of Germany liebherr group for 5 million euros, laying the foundation on the technical advantage.

The XINFENG common rail products with the technical advantages of the second generation high pressure common rail have been favored by Great Wall, yunnei, laidong and other diesel engine manufacturers as well as automobile manufacturers such as foton, gac gonow, zte,and kaima.

BASCOLIN common rail products
In order to meet the Ⅵ emission standard of high pressure common rail,BASCOLIN is also finding a road of introduction, digestion and absorption to create. The common rail parts in this brand are assured with outstanding performance and attract attention of various diesel parts manufacturers, wholesalers and importers worldwide. It's now working with international enterprises to gradually realize brand's slogan"Global Pioneer of overall solution in common rail systems".
